My question is: My mac system started to slow down and freeze when I've just updated mac os from 12.6 to 12.6.1.

My current version: Mac os Monterey 12.6.1

I haven't seen something like than previously, but now I can see really slow down when I using more of 5 apps.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.6

Are you running any optimizers? Anything like MacKeeper, Advanced Mac Cleaner will actually slow your Mac down.

If you are, and downloaded it from the App Store, please give it a one star review, as many have found these software do the opposite of their intended design. System cache files and plist files should not be modified by any utility, as these actually help optimize the computer.

If you aren't using any such utility, it would be helpful for you to give us a copy of the Etrecheck report to see if any other background application could be creating a problem. We might be able to see if you have overtaxed any system resources based on the readout of the report.

Is this a managed computer? It looks like it.

If that is the case, you have to ask the IT people that are responsible.

If not, then why are there all these "profiles"?

Cisco Anyconnect, Fortinet, and Global Protect should not be run simultaneously. Make sure only one is running at any one time. You can only really be connected to any one VPN at a time. Although you can remote into a machine that is connected into its own VPN.

VPN itself is inherently slow because you are sharing a network with other individuals coming in the same pathway.

Microsoft Defender is totally unnecessary. Utilities such as Etrecheck can evaluate what's on your machine without affecting the background operation.

Teamviewer doesn't need VPN to access other people's machines, and AnyDesk works better in VPN environments.
