Battery health of my Macbook 2020 M1 drops alarmingly

I got my 2020 Macbook Pro with an M1 chip barely a year ago, as much as I try to maintain the health of my battery, I'm shocked to find my battery health dropping at an alarming rate. The battery health is currently at 89% and I'm not impressed at all.

My previous Macbooks with Intel chips didn't perform this badly.

What could be the issue with my battery usage and performance?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

Performance(?)

You still have a expected battery cycle count of 1000 even at your 89%.

Apple will not replace the battery under warranty unless it drops below 80%..

Using battery Health Management I have seen this percentage increase as well..

The rule of thumb has always been—

if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on battery only.
