Play hi-res Audio (Apple Music) on my Stereo

Hi,

What are best practises to play Hi-Res on your stereo without a MAC connected to your stereo?

  1. ATV ==> no Hi-res however works with 24/48Khz .. however only via HDMI or airplay no dedicated Audio output. Just ordered an Audio extractor to see if quality is good (I'm a bit of an Audiophile)
  2. Any other possibilities?
  3. Rumours or facts that Apple Music might offer a way to integrate with HIFI components for Hi-res audio? or even just Lossless..? Now only Airplay 2 works however not really happy with the quality. Does not come close to connecting a MAC directly to the DAC/ amplifier.

Thanks!

Danny

Hi

the only decent method i’ve found is a massively long phono to headphone cable, curled around my lounge leading to a Dragonfly DAC coupled to a USB to lightning digital cable, ending on my iphone.

Awkward cabling but way better than airplay. I was hoping apple tv would output hi-res format…

If there’s a better way, i’d be keen to learn!
