I move from room-to-room often throughout the day. When I do, I shut the lid of my laptop and move to the next room. Is there a way to avoid having my macbook lock the screen when I shut the lid? I'd prefer not to carry my laptop from room-to-room with the screen open since that's less secure and convenient.
I don't think you can prevent that from happening.
But what is the harm? Don't you just enter your password to resume where you left off?

I think this will do it -
UNcheck System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > Require Password [x minutes] after sleep or screen saver begins.
Yeah, figured so. It's just annoying.
