Accent menu on keyboard
Since updating the operating system on my MacBook to Ventura 13.0 the accent choices do not appear when I hold down a key. I have re-booted to no avail. How can this be remedied?

It is often recommended Uninstall any and all third party Antivirus, Cleaners, Optimizers, VPN, speeder uppers....
all known to cause issue on the macOS...
for ex for your issue in particular—uninstall third party Anti-virus esp Webroot—
accent mark lost..(?) from the Terminal.app you can use the command-line to restore the function, copy & paste:
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true

Don't bother with that method. It was invented for iOS and many new Mac users don't realize that this is way easier on the Mac.

This happened to me as well. I've made sure my key repeat is not off and still it won't work. I don't have any antivirus installed that might be affecting the function. I've tried every recommendation. Does Apple have a solution for this?
