Activation lock not able to enable

My Macbook Pro 2019 with T2 security chip is not able to turn on activation lock. This Macbook Pro is DEP enrolled with active MDM profile. I've double check these settings are correct:

  1. Secure Boot To Full Security
  2. Turn On Find My Mac

But I am still not able to enable activation lock on this mac. Do I miss anything?

Hi aajjst,

Can you tell us more details on what happens when you try to enable Activation Lock for your MacBook Pro? Are you seeing an error message or encountering something else? We're wondering this as additional details can help determine possible next steps.

You mentioned you have an MDM profile on your MacBook Pro. Do you know if that will allow for Activation Lock to be enabled? We're asking as sometimes profiles can restrict certain settings from being enable (or even disabled).

Also, if you haven't already, you can see if restarting your MacBook Pro may help resolve this. Restarting can seem like a simple step, but it can sometimes help resolve unexpected issues by refreshing software on a device. If needed, the steps below show how to restart:

"Restart your Mac

  • On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > Restart.
  • If you don’t want app windows that are open to reopen when your Mac restarts, deselect “Reopen windows when logging back in.”

Those steps, and other details, can be found here: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

Let us know if that helps or if you've already tried that step.

Take care!
