Apple Maps and a telephone call

Hello ! I have a question... Sometimes I need to call my customers when Apple Maps are open and running on my iPhone. When I do that, the call appear in full-screen mode, and Maps are in background... So I must kill the screen and tap the app icon to see the navigator. How to see the call I started in a little window up-screen ? Is it possible ?
