I bought the Imac Apple 24" iMac M1 / 8 GB / 256 GB / Apple M1 7-core / . Can I connect my extern backup from the Imac half 2007with OSX El Capitan before the installation or when the installation is finished? Please can someone give me advice?
Yes, if you want to migrate from the 2007 to the new iMac, follow the steps in Setup Assistant and Migration Assistant. However if all you want to is to use the old Time Machine drive to back up the new Mac yes you can do that too. However if the old Time Machine drive is older than 4-5 years I STRONGLY recommend that you replace it with a new External Hard Disk such as a OWC Mercury Elite Pro!!!
