All of the pre-release hype for the Ultra said you would be able to see water temperature during a swim workout and other water sports, but from i can tell, water temp is only available on the dive and and only while submerged. Is this true?

The Depth app, which does show water temp while under water, is useless while open water swimming, surfing, etc. Marketing lit implied I would be able to see water temp during a swim workout, or while doing "other" water sports. Some Ultra reviews even showed a picture of the swim workout display with water temp visible, but it doesn't appear to have been included in the actual release of the watch. Am I missing something?

Thanks for your replies. I spoke with Apple and they confirmed that it (water temp) was intended to be available during swimming, but in fact is ONLY available via the Depth app and only while diving. Unfortunately not available during an ocean or lake swim using the swim workout app. Maybe something they will add in the future via un update.
