iPhone Notifications Always At Max Volume
This past week, my notifications have come in at max volume, regardless of what I have in the settings. I have tried controlling the volume with and without the buttons but it doesn’t change. I’ve tried turning off and on random settings in Sounds and Haptics but notifications continue to come in at max volume. The only time they don’t come it at full volume is when I have the phone in silent mode, but I do not like using silent mode except in specific circumstances.
I’ve searched for this problem and have found references going back as far as iOS 13 so this doesn’t appear to be a new issue. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and the issue only appeared in the last 3-4 days.
I have restarted the phone multiple times and that does not resolve the issue. Please don’t tell me to factory reset the phone since (1) that may or may not address the issue and (2) it’s taken me a month to finish all my transfers and app configurations.
Note that this problem is not just with one app but happens with all app notifications. It also happens if I’m on the phone on the Home Screen, actively using an app, or the phone is at the Lock Screen.
If this is a bug that needs to be addressed in the next iOS release (I’m assuming the issue is iOS related since it started after the last update), please let me know how I can formally report a bug to the iOS team.
Thanks.
