Airpods 3rd generation and Facetime Audio problem
I bought the Airpods 3rd gen and I like them. Today I found a problem which is most likely software related. Whenever there is an incoming Facetime audio call and I answer it from the Airpods, the other party does not hear me. But if it is a normal carrier call then there is no problem. It only happens with the Facetime audio. Also there is no problem with outgoing Facetime audio calls and the Airpods.
What I have tried so far to isolate the issue. My own device is iPhone 13 pro
1) My wife and several friends have called me via Facetime audio. When I answer the call from the Airpods, I can hear them perfectly but they cannot hear me.
2) If I am the one making the call then there is no problem.
3) If the incoming call is not a Facetime audio call and I answer it via the Airpods, again there is no problem.
4)If the incoming call is a Facetime audio call and I answer it via the iPhone first and then route it to the Airpods, there is no problem.
5)If I answer the Facetime audio call using the iPad, there is no problem (iOS 15.7)
6)If I pair the Airpods to my wife's iPhone 12 pro max(iOS 15.7) and call her via Facetime Audio, there is no problem.
So, I believe the problem is a software issue on the iOS 16.0.3. I would love to get feedback from those people who have an Airpods 3rd gen and who are using iOS 16.0.3 with an incoming Facetime Audio call.
