Apple ID Photo Linked to Wrong Contact

If I change my Apple ID photo (both on my iPhone and on iCloud.com) it changes the photo on my mom’s contact. If I change her contact photo to the correct one it’ll change my apple ID photo on my phone and Apple TV. How can I fix this? I’ve tried googling and changing things and nothing has worked. Under Contacts>My Info it does show my name. I don’t share an account with my mom. I have no idea why her contact photo would be linked to and changing my Apple ID photo.

There wasn’t anything connecting us on My Card. I couldn’t find any reason that it was happening so the way I solved this problem was just by deleting my Mom’s contact info from my phone completely and then adding her back as a new contact.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with changing your Apple ID photo as it's also changing the photo connected to your mom. We'd like to help.

From what you've described, it does sound like there is connection between your two devices so we'll try to help you isolate that. Let's get started on this.

Open Contacts on your iPhone.
Tap your name/My Card at the top
Check all entries on your card.

Do you see any thing that would connect to your mom? It may be her phone number and/or email address.

If you do, this could be why they are both changing when you change your photo.

Let us know what you see and we'll go from there.
