Google email attachments not showing in the default mail app

That is a strange thing to occur in Mail, and we'd like to look into it by confirming some details, along with ruling out some possible causes:

1. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
2. You mentioned having no issues with attachments from previous mail you received through your Gmail account, but have you tested sending another email to your Gmail account with another attachment? If yes, what were the results from the new email you sent yourself?
3. If you have another email account set up in Mail, like iCloud for example, have they been affected in the same way?

At this point, since every other email with attachments is not having any issues, we agree that this issue seems to be coming from the sender.

If you receive another email, from a different sender with the same issue, let us know. We can take another look with you.

Are you able to have them send another email to you for testing purposes? Did you receive any sort of security warning when you viewed this specific message? Are the attachments perhaps a file type not automatically displayed by Mail?
