Unable to combine pdf in preview

PDF's not combining? Show thumbnails on the side by by clicking View from top menu bar. .Try inserting a blank page after the last page of the first pdf. Then drag and drop your next pdf just before the blank page into the thumbnails. Apple support provided this remedy.

Pages saving PDF with thumbnails even when unchecked. Is this something new...... I just made a Pages document, 3 pages long. I did not have thumbnails checked, nor could I see them when I made the document. I want that Pages file to be a PDF. This work is for a client. So I go to file, print, and in that print box, I select save as PDF. However, when I open that PDF it has thumbnails showing. When I go to view, they are clearly selected on the PDF preview, and I can't uncheck them. The client does NOT want this PDF to have thumbnails. So I tested this by making another Pages document with 3 pages of text only. I saved that. Then I saved it as a PDF, and that, too shows the thumbnails in the document. Again they were NOT showing in the Pages file (they were unchecked). So why does it seem like all of a sudden, Pages is saving to PDFs only with thumbnails? I did this the other day with a different document and it didn't show thumbnails. What changed? Again, when I open the PDF in Preview, it shows thumbnails, and I can not turn them off. How do I get rid of the thumbnails?? A couple of images that show the pages file with no thumbnails. And then one that shows the PDF in Preview with thumbnails that I can't uncheck. Help would be greatly appreciated. I need this file with NO thumbnails. Susan

Combined PDFs in Preview have different page sizes I have a multipage PDF containing 8.5x11 pages. I scanned a new 8.5x11 page to a new PDF, opened both files in Preview and dragged the single page thumbnail from the new file into the preexisting file's thumbnail panel. The page was added to the target file and can be saved, but the newly inserted page image is much too large; I want it to conform to the letter-size pages in the target PDF. Not sure how to adjust the page or image size. I'm scanning from an older HP printer/scanner to a Macbook Air running Ventura 13.5.2.

Why can't I create a PDF using Quick Actions? When I select two .HEIC files to either convert them to an acceptable image format like a JPEG or PNG, or in this case, combine them to make a PDF, I get an error, "There was a problem running this action". Was working fine until this week. I use it to submit assignments to college, it's a pain to find a file conversion website every time.

Apple provides a Quick Action in the Finder for merging PDFs which is known as Create PDF. One selects the PDFs in the order of their merge, right-clicks on the first of that selection, and then chooses Quick Actions > Create PDF. A new PDF will appear on the Desktop containing the merged PDFs. No Preview folly is necessary.

Also remember to go to File at top menu bar and choose Save.
