Does the Apple USB C to Lightning cable replace the need for a Camera Connection Kit?

I use iOS devices with various midi controllers and audio interfaces. Up until now I’ve always connected these things via the CCK.

With the USB C to Lightning cable, can I plug a USB C device directly into an iPad’s Lightning connection?

Plugging in a flash drive into my iPad or iPhone I saw this question asked a few times but I am not clear about the answer. iPad USB3 adapter power - Apple Community I purchased a Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter to plug a flash drive into my iPad or iPhone, however, when I tried it, it said on the screen it cannot use the accessory because it requires too much power. Do I need to get a USB hub, plug the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter into the iPad or iPhone, then plug the USB-A from the USB hub into the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, and then use another cable to connect the USB hub to the wall outlet? Would that work?

Hi,

You can use USB-C to charge other devices using your iPad. However, you would not be able to import or otherwise sync photos between devices plugged into the iPad. Only charge.
