How to connect Apple Cinema Display to Thunderbolt dock?
Hi: I'm feeling overwhelmed with monitor options. I upgraded to a MBP ().
I have dual monitors working great from it, one a 2019 HP 27q Display that connects directly to the HDMI port on the MBP, and the other an "ancient" but functional 2007 Apple Cinema Display that connects to a 1st gen Thunderbolt Dock via a DVI cable connected to a DVI-to-HDMI converter connected to the dock via HDMI which is connected to the MBP via original generation Thunderbolt.
I just upgraded my dock to a OWC Thunderbolt Dock (96W) OWCTB4DOCK but this has no HDMI port :( So I tried to connect the Apple Cinema Display to the dock via display>DVItoHDMI dongle>HDMItoThunderbolt3 dongle>dock; and then display>DVItoThunderbolt3 dongle>dock and neither of these worked...
Any advice as to how to connect my old but functional Apple Cinema Display to the modern Thunderbolt dock to get my 2nd monitor?
Failing this, what should I get in terms of a new monitor that will connect directly to the new dock ideally without any dongles?
Many, many thanks!
