Hello desibob1234,
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We see you have some questions about your device getting warm, and we'd like to help. The following link can help explain some tips on what to do when your device gets warm: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch gets too hot or too cold - Apple Support
Your device might get warm
You might notice that your device feels warmer when you:
•Set up your device the first time
•Restore from a backup
•Wirelessly charge your device
•Use graphics-intensive or processor-intensive apps, games, or features, including augmented-reality apps
•Stream high-quality video
These conditions are normal, and your device will return to a regular temperature when the process is complete or when you finish your activity. If your device doesn't display a temperature warning, you can keep using your device.
Let us know if this helps.
Regards.

Hey there desibob1234,
Taking another look at If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch gets too hot or too cold,
These conditions are normal, and your device will return to a regular temperature when the process is complete or when you finish your activity. If your device doesn't display a temperature warning, you can keep using your device.
That is to say, a number of factors contribute to your device becoming warm. However, if you feel your device is operating outside of expected norms, you may want to reach out to Apple Support to have them check it out.
Have a good one!
I am asking for the reason behind device getting hot rather than precautions and ways to cool it down. Is there a fix in IOS planned to deal with it since it started happening after installation of IOS 16.
Is this issue normal and expected now and is apple suggesting that users make changes to their app and background settings to deal with it ?
