Apple Music categories refreshing

I’m running Apple Music through my Apple TV and when I’m listening to, for example, Indie or Rock Music under Listen Now, I find that after listening to a song and then backing out to cue another the screen refreshes and jumps such that I have to scroll to re-find the place where I was at. Sometimes the entire category ie. Indie is now missing.

I can understand that certain categories like Recently Played will refresh but when I back out I’d like to be at the same place I started.

Any hardware or firmware updates that might help?

Hey there David Gough2,

Since noticing this, have you had a chance to restart your Apple TV? If not, this can help if there is an issue with the device that needs refreshing. Restart using these steps:

Do any of the following:

• Press and hold both the Back (second-generation Siri Remote) or (first-generation Siri Remote) and TV buttons on the Siri Remote until the Apple TVstatus light blinks rapidly.

• Disconnect Apple TV from the power outlet, wait five seconds, then reconnect it.

• Open Settings on Apple TV, go to System and select Restart.

You can also check to see if there are any software updates available in case this is software related instead. Use these steps to update:

1. Go to Settings > System > Software Updates and select Update Software.

2. If there's an update, select Download and Install.

3. Wait for your Apple TV to download the update. Don't disconnect or unplug your Apple TV until the update completes.

After the update downloads, your Apple TV will restart, prepare the update, then install it. When the update is complete, your Apple TV will automatically restart again.
