When wearing an apple watch, is there a way for my phone to alert me & (not my watch) when I receive a text?

Why are my text notifications only going to my Apple Watch? I have today got my first Iwatch a series 10 and have been setting it up but when the phone (a 15) is locked text/whats app notifications are only coming through to my watch and not the phone, how can I change this? I can’t find it in the user manual. Can I have the phone on sound and the watch vibrate? The watch isn’t giving the different tones/sounds allocated as on my phone to indicate where the notification is from. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Does Apple Watch interfere with ipad notifications? For example when you’re looking at your phone you won’t get notifications on your watch. Is it the same with ipad?
