Unable to verify VISA Debit card in Apple Wallet

I have added my Bank VISA Debit Card to my Apple wallet and the system says a text with a verification code was sent to my phone number (the only one I have in my apple profile). However I do not receive the text and so I’m unable to verify card in my wallet. I tried changing the verification method but the phone number is the only option (email does not show). I use the same phone for 2 factor authentication for my bank and all other apps.
