Can I save tabs in Pages the same way tabs get saved in Numbers?

Can I save tabbed documents in Pages the same way tabbed spreadsheets are saved in Numbers? I created separate but related documents in Pages. I would like to save, close, and later re-open one document that contains all the tabbed documents that had previously been merged. I can merge them into a single tabbed document in Pages but, when I close and reopen that merged document, the merged documents are no longer merged into one tabbed document. To take this one step further, it could be helpful to have the ability to edit each of the tabbed/merged documents separately and those edits/updates would appear when the one-file-to-rule-them-all is opened.
