My family member cannot access my 200 GB of Icloud storage.

My family member cannot access the shared iCloud storage after accepting my invitation to share it as a family member. She only has her 5 GB storage instead of the 200 GB.

I am also sharing purchases and we logged out of her Icloud account and logged back in and rebooted her phone. Her phone still says she only has 5 GB.

HELP!

Hi Bobfox47,

They likely haven't chosen to switch over the the family storage yet. They can do so on their device using these steps: Share iCloud+ with your family - Apple Support

"Switch from your personal iCloud+ plan to your family plan

When you share iCloud+, any family members using the free 5GB plan are added to your family plan automatically.

If a family member is already paying for their own iCloud+ plan, they can choose to switch to your plan or keep their own and still remain part of the family. When they switch to the shared family plan, they get a refund for the remainder of their personal plan. They can't keep their current plan and use the shared family plan at the same time.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

In iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 later:

  1. Go to Settings > Family.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap iCloud+.
  4. Tap Use Family Storage.

In iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 or earlier:

  1. Go to Settings > [your name].
  2. Tap Family Sharing, then tap iCloud+.
  3. Tap Use Family Storage.

On your Mac

In macOS Ventura or later:

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Family.
  2. Click Subscriptions, then choose iCloud+.
  3. Click Use Shared Plan.

In macOS Monterey or earlier:

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Family Sharing.
  2. Click iCloud Storage.
  3. Click Use Family Storage. "

Feel free to let us know if that resolves the issue.

Cheers

Thanks for all that! It was part of the solution.

The other part was on my phone that started Family8 sharing that I somehow missed when setting it up.

Besides adding my wife to Family sharing, I also needed to allow her to use ICloud+. That is a separate operation on the organizing phone. That function is below the Family Sharing options under "Family" on OS 15.

Blessings!
