iwatch model 6 display ON not working

It used to work until I upgraded. I have a model 6 watch and iphone 12 pro max. Setting on the watch has display ON; but, it goes dark after a few seconds until I tap the screen. Annoying.

How can I fix that - I want the screen ON all the time

Check to see if you have theatre mode turned on in the control centre;
