I can't turn my i phone off to restart it because it prompts me to "slide to power off" and it won't respond

How can I get my i phone to respond to touch? It suddenly froze up. I can't even restart it because it prompts me to "slide to power off" and it won't respond to my touch.

iPhone 12 mini, iOS 15
