Software Updates using a lot of Mobile Data

Recently my iPhone XR has been using a lot of data when i checked under my data usage, it shows System Services(Software Updates in particular) that is using a chunk of it. It could go up to 1 GB per day on System Services alone. I have tried to turn off the settings for automatic updates under General > Software Update > Automatic Updates, but it did not help. It didn't use any data for 1~2 days, and continued eating up data again afterwards. I also turned off iCloud drive syncing but it didn't help too.

I might be wrong but I am pretty sure this problem came about after updating to iOS 16. I am now currently on iOS 16.0.2

Any help on this issue would greatly be appreciated!

Hi SravanKrA, thanks for your reply.

But turning off Mobile Data would just mean that I cannot use my data at all, including messaging apps and other general data usage apps. What I want to know is how do i reduce the amount used by System Services>Software Updates, because Software Updates using 1 GB per day is not normal for me based on my past usage of iPhones.

Turn mobile data on or off

To turn mobile data on or off, go to Settings, then tap Mobile Data or Cellular. If you're using an iPad, you may see Settings > Mobile Data.

To see how much mobile data you've used, go to Settings > Mobile Data or Settings > Cellular. If you're using an iPad, you may see Settings > Mobile Data. Scroll down to find out which apps are using mobile data.
