I am trying to restore deleted whatsapp messages. They are being backed up to I cloud. I have deleted the whatsapp app and reinstalled but it restored a really old back up not the latest ones. I want to know how I can access the backed up data in icloud and choose what I want to view. I cloud also seems to be deleting back ups even though there is lots of space how do I stop it doing this

iCloud will only hold the latest backup, it overwrites older ones.

On re-install of WhatsApp, if you are only offered an old backup then that was the latest successful backup. You have no further remedy.

You might get more help on a Whatsapp support group, generally third party apps are not responded to on here , it's just I am a big WhatsApp user!
