Sending rich text email via Shortcuts on Mac shows HTML text in Apple Mail compose on macOS

I have created a small a shortcut using Shortcuts on Mac to send email. It takes markdown text, converts it into rich text and passes on to Send Email action. Below is the screenshot.

But when the Apple Mail compose shows up it ends up showing HTML text. Below is the screenshot.

In my Mail Preferences > Composing > Message format is set to Rich Text. This shortcut works perfectly fine on iOS and shows me formatted text.

Is there any other setting that I need to update? How can I get rich text in Apple Mail compose?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

Hi naveenm31,

You can definitely et rich text in emails in Mail by completing the step below that are also listed here: Use plain or rich text in emails in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

• Choose Format > Make Rich Text (available only when the current format is plain text). Rich text (HTML) format can include formatting, tables, and images, but may be unreadable for some recipients.

Best regards

naveenm31,

When you compose an email without the shortcut, do things appear as you’d expect? Has this shortcut worked in the past? Here’s why we ask, if the compose is set for Rich Text already, could this shortcut be creating a redundancy? If the text is sent as it is already formatted, how does it appear in the composition field?

We appreciate you testing those things.

Yes, I get rich text editor in Mail compose. I have enabled this in the preferences.

This is the first time I trying this shortcut. Although, the shortcut works on my iPhone SE (2nd gen).

It appears as HTML in the Mail compose. I have added screenshot in the question.
