iOs 16 - touch screen completely unresponsive

After iOs 16 update I cannot unlock my phone - the touch screen is completely unresponsive. I can't back up to my Mac either in order to wipe/restore as when I connect it, my iPhone doesn't show up (I assume because it's still locked after completing the iOS update).

So currently my phone is completely unusable.

Any ideas for how to unlock and do any of the work arounds (e.g. touch accessibility or restoring iPhone to 15.7 or redoing the update by usb rather than over the air)
