How to get Apple Card to pass AVS (address verification system) checks?
My Apple Card virtual number is regularly declined by some merchants. One of them gave me a reason:
Transaction Declined
The transaction has been declined because of an AVS mismatch. The address provided does not match billing address of cardholder.
However, what I entered in the merchant's form is an exact match for what is shown on my phone under the billing address of the Apple Card.
The charge was actually approved by the bank (Goldman Sachs), and then the merchant immediately reversed it.
Same symptom on other merchants with similar error messages (or no message, just a "card declined")
I've been around and around for five months trying to get the Apple Card support team to resolve the issue and/or provide any guidance at all about how to fix the issue. So far, not even a suggestion on "do this to fix it". Just a "well try the transaction again".
Anybody else having this trouble? Anybody have suggestions on how to actually get the bank to research and resolve the issue?
