iOS 16 Apple Music - No way to rewind or fast forward music?

So it seems like there used to be a progress bar in Apple Music when songs were playing... allowing us to "drag" the button back and forth on the progress bar to hear certain parts of the song. I can find no way to do this now - except for in the lock screen, which is not only unintuitive, but impractical. Am I missing something?

Hello Randy Maynard1,

Okay, the view you are seeing is the same we see. It does not have a slider bar.

But if you tap the bottom right 3 dots and 3 lines icon, it pops up the song view, not the album and not the up next views. Only there can we see the slider bar in iOS 16. You can tell you are in that view because the icon is white with black lines. When it is not enabled, it has no outline, and the dots and lines are white.

Hope this clears this up. Thanks.

Hey Randy,

We're happy to help with the progress bar in the Music app.

In iOS 16, you should be able to drag the progress bar if the song playing in the Music app is open full screen.

1- Open the Apple Music app.

2- Play a song from the Apple Music catalog.

3- At the bottom of the screen, tap the song that's playing.

4- You'll see the progress bar under the album artwork.

We hope this helps. Take care.

Hey Randy Maynard1,

Thanks for that screenshot. We see the Toyota text as well. Are you connected to a vehicle? Do you experience the same if you disconnect from the vehicle or any other Bluetooth devices that might be connected? This can help us isolate the root of the issue. And have you tried restarting the device? Restart your iPhone. This can sometimes fix simple interface issues.
