How do I disable the keyboard shortcuts Command-Option-Right/Left Arrow to STOP switching between Chrome browser tabs?

I often press Command+Option+Right/Left Arrow to skip from word to word when I am typing in Microsoft Word.

This works beautifully EXCEPT when I am typing in a Chrome browser, when the same command suddenly takes me away from what I'm typing to the next browser tab! You can imagine my frustration when I'm trying to stay focused in my writing only to be taken to another browser tab whenever I press those keys.

I searched on google but I only found entries on how to use they keys to switch between browser tabs when I am trying to "disable" that function when I am using Chrome. If anyone knows how to disable this please share. Much appreciated.

I don’t use Chrome but *maybe* you can try adding a different shortcut for this functionality. Find the exact wording jn the menu and add a keyboard shortcut for it in System Preferences->Keyboard->Shortcuts->App Shortcuts

That's good advice except I could not locate it to modify the functionality. I looked under System Preferences->Keyboard->Shortcuts->App Shortcuts and I also clicked on everything listed under Shortcuts without locating this Command-Option-Right/Left Arrow to modify it. How frustrating but I thank you for trying.

As I said up there ^

Have tried the exact Keyboard Combo while using native Safari version 16 on Monterey 12.6 and can not duplicate this behaviour.

Must be a Specific to Google Chrome
