Unable to pair new iwatch having unpairing error

Bought new series 8 , I had my first generation watch on my phone.

tried to pair the new watch and it’s failing error message saying unpairing takes minutes.

new watch needs update- it’s a new 8 series watch .

Pairing new Apple Watch Ultra Having just upgraded to the Ultra watch, it arrived today. I unpaired my previous watch, selected Start Pairing on the iPhone and scanned the new Ultra. However, after about 30 secs a brief error message flashes and the phone switches to Unpairing Apple Watch and then takes me back to the beginning. After several attempts, I managed to screenshot the error message as it flashes up and I have included below. Frustratingly, if I select the upgrade option during pairing, the same error occurs.

Unpaired Apple Watch not updating with new phone, won’t pair My Apple Watch hasn’t been used in over a year. I had misplaced it. Trying to pair it with my new phone. It will not get past the software update request. Every time I receive an error, “Unable to check for Update.” Tried soft reset on both devices. How do I get the watch paired? Been trying different things for hours.

Try unpairing/removing from your account the 1st gen watch.
