What if the mute box is checked by there's no option to uncheck it?

There's no sound on my MacBook Pro. Also, the mute box in Sound is checked and I can't uncheck it! I just have no idea how to proceed.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

Hi,

Try going to Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup > Built-in Output > Output > uncheck the Mute box.
