Unable to block a spam email address in apple mail

I have a spam email that I try to block and add to junk. It cannot be blocked in Apple mail or even Outlook as all my emails are synced with outlook. I have always been able to block spam, other than this particular email that comes in periodically and I always recognize it. I just tried the unsubscribe option in mail, not sure if I tried that previously, but I don’t understand why I can’t block this address?

Have you double checked to be sure that you're not trying to block the spoofed address and not the actual senders address? Sometimes the SPAM sender will spoof another address which is displayed, but the actual sending address is different from the one displayed. Typically you can hover over the sender's email and display the actual email address.

Greetings, islandlady91.

You are able to block Mail using the following step. This should help to keep the message from showing in your inbox.

“Block senders

  1. In the Mail app  on your Mac, select a message from the sender you want to block.
  2. Move the pointer next to their name in the message header, click the arrow, then choose Block Contact.
  3. The Blocked icon  appears next to the sender’s name in the message list and a banner is added to their messages to indicate they’re blocked. The banner also provides a link to the Blocked pane of Mail preferences, where you can manage blocked senders.

You can also add senders directly to the list of blocked senders. Choose Mail > Preferences, click Junk Mail, then click Blocked.” Block or unblock senders in Mail on Mac

We hope this helps to further isolate and resolve the issue to get Mail responding normally when asked.

Best wishes.

Good Morning,

Thank you Jess. I have done that with this particular email address, and it doesn’t work. Normally when I block and email, there is a red circle with a line through it that shows it has been blocked. It doesn’t work with this one email. I have tried to unsubscribe also, so I’m hoping that will work. I am traveling, so I don’t have access to my spam blocker to see why it isn’t working with that also. It’s strange how one email can get through and not be able to be blocked. I may have to wait until I get home and work with the spam blocker, but thank you.
