IOS 16 lock screen issues - cannot edit!

Hi!

As soon as I installed IOS16 on my iPhone SE, I wanted to check out the new wallpaper look. So I went in the "setting" app to change the background. It looked great! Then I wanted to delete some of the widgets on the new lock screen but the instruction to edit the lock screen makes no sense.

When I open the phone and I am in the lock screen, the instructions say to tap and hold to edit the lock screen, but when I do this, all I get is a "unlock to edit" message and when I unlock my phone, well... I'm not on the lock screen anymore!

How do I edit this thing?

Had the same. Figured out that unlocking is not enough. You have to first unlock, then swipe down from the top on home screen - now you can edit the lock screen(s).

I think you are accidentally dismissing the lock screen when you unlock your phone. On the iPhone SE, instead of pushing the home button, just rest your finger on it to unlock the screen without dismissing the lock screen.
