Books not downloading

I recently upgraded to IOS 16 and my books are not downloading,I can open my books app and books are appearing on my list but it wont start to download..any suggestions what to do?

iPadOS 16.3 update issues with book app I updated to iPadOS 16.3 yesterday and am now having issues with book app. One of my purchased books (bible) shows no content or index to look up by chapter but I can scroll page by page. Is anyone else having problems?

Unable to open book on Apple Books app in my iPad. For the last month, I have intermittently not been able to open books in my library. Now I can’t at all. Most of the books no longer display their covers, now simply a solid cover with the book title. I have updated to IOS 18.3.1. I have heard that the latest few updates are the cause of the problem. Try a force restart: Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (AU)

If that doesn't help see if offloading the app and downloading again does.
