Apple watch Serial Number

When I put the Apple watch Serial number for Trade in on Apple website

It comes as Apple watch Series 5 but actually it is Apple watch series 3

I checked the Serial number on the watch app as well as behind the Watch band.

so any idea what is the misunderstanding here?
