Should sidecar work in clamshell mode?
Before when lid of the MacBook is closed, the extended display on iPad turns into main display of the MacBook automatically, now the sidecar on iPad just disappears.

I found a clunky and annoying workaround, hopefully it helps other people who just want to get their work done. Steps:
This is of course not ideal, but if you’re someone who just needs a versatile workspace, it’s better than nothing. And if anybody is wondering, upgrading to Ventura did not solve the issue.

Just updated to 12.6 Monterey, and having the same problem. Can’t mirror the display of the M1 MacBook Air on iPad now either, open or closed.
Yes, I'm having the same problem after the latest Monterey update. I tried this method on my Monterey 12.4 M1 air, iPad becomes the main display when lid closed.
