Battery Expanded and acrylic smell from it.

I Bought a iPhone 12 7th august 21 and it seems the battery has expanded and pushed the screen away from the case. I believe this is a common issue... Apple want to inspect the phone but its pretty obvious it is a battery defect. Is there any way this could be done under warranty even though the phone is 13 months old.

I noticed yesterday that the screen had lifted slightly and that there was a slight smell coming from the phone, almost like nail polish. I took it into EE today to be sent off to an apple authorised repair service. While in EE they charged me £70 before the phone was even sent off and mentioned I might need to pay more if the screen needs fixing/replacing. The screen worked perfectly fine, there’s no other sign of a swollen battery apart from the lifting and slight smell. I thought this would have all been covered by warranty. iPhone 14 Promax battery swelling My husbands phone has been powering off continuously the past week and noticing his battery is swelling and bulging his screen. Never had something like this happen. Really upset that it feels like iPhones are having more and more problems with Apple less and less willing to help.

Swollen Battery My daughter’s month old iPhone 15 has came completely apart due to the battery being unsafe. the best apple can do for me is make me wait for a new phone. This should take 10 or more days. I’m completely disappointed in this. The Geek Squad is referring to the phone as a bomb. And it’s giving everyone a headache due to the fumes. Thanks a lot apple for helping me after your product has turned into an actual bomb.

It is a battery failure but if you are not in warranty it will not be covered.
