Why is my Mac is not able to text out to some senders?

Texting to some folks isn't working. For some it is.

Why is this happening. I've reset, rebooted, done all of the protocols mentioned.

Still not working

Messages app is consistently failing on the Mac I am having a ton of failed to deliver messages on Mac Messages in Sequoia Group messages that worked before won't let me reply. Texts to individuals continually fail. I have tried again and again. Makes no sense. Problem started about a week ago. Tried one solution that did not work because it did not give me the option of sending as text: 1. Tap the red exclamation point, then tap Try Again. 2. If you still can’t send the message, tap the red exclamation point, then tap Send as Text Message. Messaging rates may apply. So frustrated that I have looked into using another app that is global but can't find one that is reasonably priced and has good reviews Any ideas why this is happening?

A Mac can only send iMessages to other Apple devices. In order to send SMS text messages to non-Apple devices, you will need an iPhone.
