Update. I tried changing my SE 2 Lock Screen wallpaper to one of the stock Apple wallpapers. Widgets appear! Change Lock Screen wallpaper back to my favorite image, widgets disappear. At least for this iOS update, you can only add widgets to a limited number of wallpaper images.

Hey ArturoSCL.

Looks like you joined the forum through How to add and edit widgets on your iPhone, which is the perfect resource to use if issues have occurred. With iOS 16, there are a few ways widgets can be added, so it's important to know if your issue is with adding widgets to the Home Screen or the Lock Screen. It's also important to note that you can only add widgets to the Home Screen in iOS16. Your profile lists iOS 15 as the current iOS you're using, so make sure that your device is running iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets are what you want to use.

Within iOS 16, there are specific locations on the Lock Screen where widgets can be added, so make sure to review the below info.

"How to add widgets to your Lock Screen

With iOS 16, you can add widgets to your Lock Screen to get information at a glance — for example, the temperature, air quality, battery level, or upcoming calendar events.

  1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen until the Customize button appears, then tap Customize.
  2. Tap the box above or below the time to see the widgets that you can add to your Lock Screen.
  3. Tap or drag the widgets that you want to add.
  4. Tap Done.

If there’s not enough room for a new widget, you can tap the Remove button  to remove a widget and make room for the one you want to add."

If the issue is with something else, please provide some contact and details so that a member of the community will be best equipped to assist you in solving the issue.

Take care.

I just installed iOS 16 on my iPhone SE (2021) specifically for the Lock Screen widgets. (Documentation shows that the SE second generation is comparable with the new iOS.) Then I followed the instructions to customize the Lock Screen. After pressing on the Lock Screen, I get the option to “choose new wallpaper,” but there’s no option to add widgets. I searched for widgets in “Settings” but couldn’t find anything. I checked that my software was up to date (iOS 16.0.2.) After an hour of searching I still can’t locate how to install Lock Screen widgets on my phone. In fact there’s no mention of widgets anywhere on my phone. Suggestions?
