Hello, I have an old Apple TV 4k without the USB or lightning port that was bricked after a recent update. The device was working perfectly fine until the update however, now it just wont boot. It gets stuck in a cycle with the white light blinking but I get no video. Is there a way to force this device in to a recovery mode, does Apple still cover these software blunders or do I just have a paperweight?

If you see a continuously flashing status light, that indicates a failure to start up properly. First try a cold restart (disconnect from power for a minute or two). If that doesn’t improve it, then the system software may need to be re-installed. Unfortunately, for the 4K model, users can’t do this themselves. Instead, contact Apple Support for assistance.

If your Apple TV isn't powering on as expected, start by working through these steps:
After each step, see if your issue has resolved.
1. Unplug both ends of the HDMI cable, then firmly plug them back in. Or try using a different HDMI cable to see if the cable causes the issue. Then in the television menu, make sure that you select the HDMI input that matches the HDMI port connected to the Apple TV.
2. Unplug your television and your Apple TV from power, then plug both back in.
3. Try to restore your Apple TV.
