Wi-Fi does not connect to Mac (Big Sur)

Wi-Fi works on my iPad and iPhone

at Apple Store: Mac ran fine on ethernet cable. Diagnostics say nothing wrong with Mac. (Without ethernet cable, Wi-Fi is off and can’t be reset).

Hi, etessitore, what model and year of Mac do you have? It should start with “A” then 4 more numbers/digits after that… on mac, while is running, connect ethernet cable from modem/router to mac and under system preferences> network… switch to Ethernet.. turn off wifi.. you should see green light … connection is active/ok… go to wifi part of it.. delete wifi network, make new one.. under network prefs renew ip lease/address.. restart mac… again, it depends on model and year of mac… if is m1, all you can do ( easily) is shut down mac, disconnect power cable from back… wait a few minutes… plug cable back in and turn on mac…if not m1, you can reset it… i don’t know year + model of your mac or if is m1 or not, so can only give you general advice
