I have an iPhone 13 Pro 256 gb. I updated to ios16 yesterday and now my phone is freezing, especially when trying to text. I have tried shutting the phone down completely, closing all apps, and nothing helps. I have more than half of my storage still empty. Interesting how problems creep up once a new model is available. This phone is only 10 months old! Any suggestions for fixing the freezing issue?

if you call Apple Support, the first thing that they will ask you to do is a Forced Restart. So, that might be a good place to start.

I have teh same issue on my iPhone 12 mini. The phone regularly freezes completely. And I have to hold down the volume donw and lock screen button for what seems like ages to re start. This has started happening since the update to iOS 16. I have installed NO NEW APPS on the phone. Quite frustrating.
ios 16 has been a bit of a lemon. I had an SMB file server mounted on my Files App. I un mounted from my phone. Now I connect to it only when I need to. Also updated my iOS 16.1.1 (Not 16.1.2 yet).
I haven’t had this problem since then. Not sure which of the two actions fixed this. The update or removing the SMB share.
I am having the same issues. I’ve done the force restart, updated all my apps, force restarted again and it’s getting worse.

I had (have) the same issues. I noticed that this problem stops when I disconnected from the SMB file server that I have on my home network. I can still use it. But I don’t leave it mounted.
Did you ever resolve this? having the same issue now.
