IPhone XR Suddenly no Cellular Data

HELP!! All of a sudden last week my phone stopped having cellular data. I noticed the 4 dots on the top right-hand corner. Ive had apple & at&t look at it and can't find the problem. I have had the screen replaced & a new sim card put in to make sure it wasn't those two. Still nothing. My phone works when it wants to. It will let me randomly surf the internet and make phone calls but its not often, again more random. Any suggestions?

Hi varnish22,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

Check to see that Cellular Data is actually switched on as described here: Use cellular data on your iPhone or iPad

"To turn cellular data on or off, go to Settings, then tap Cellular or Mobile Data."

Also try testing with LTE, 4G and 3G to see if the result is the same.

It doesn't sound like you are seeing "No Service" but the steps found in the article may still help: If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad.

  1. Check your coverage area
  2. Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
  3. Restart your iPhone or iPad
  4. Check for a Carrier Settings update
  5. Turn your cellular line off and back on
  6. Reset your Network Settings
  7. Contact your carrier

Finally, it's possible service may be required:

"If your carrier confirms that there's no issue with your account or network, but you still can't connect to a cellular network, contact Apple Support."

Have a fantastic day!
