Apple Pay rejecting my Chewy purchase

I just heard from Chewy.com that my monthly auto-ship order was canceled because my “payment method was declined”. I have used the same credit card in my Apple Pay for months, and Chewy was able to complete the order with no problems, but suddenly it’s being declined. I spoke with a Chewy’s rep and she suggested I contact Apple as everything looked fine on their end. Help! And, thanks!
