Replying to a Hide My Email

I'm using Hide My Email, and have not been able to find a way to 'Send' from that email in the apple mail app, or via Mail on icloud.com. that's a problem, but i can live with that.

the more major issue (BUG) is that I also cannot Reply to a mail I have received via an Hide My Email address. I have spoken with three Support techs (one front-line, the other two were supposed to be advanced support), and none of them could figure anything out.

This is a problem because i've used these aliases to subscribe to services & products, and I now need to contact those companies to provide them a new email address (or cancel), but i now have no way of contacting them. All replies fail with a message that this HideMyEmail address has been deactivated or deleted (it hasn't, i can still see it in my list and continue to receive mail via it).

This is a fundamental problem, and is costing me money because I cannot cancel a service that only knows me from this email alias.

Hey 34for40.

Do you happen to use Keychain in iCloud on your devices? This could be important as if so, the services you mentioned may have login information saved in the keychain, which could let you make the changes you want for those accounts. If you're using an iPhone, follow the steps below to find local passwords:

"

  1. Tap Settings, then select Passwords. In iOS 13 or earlier, select Passwords & Accounts, then tap Website & App Passwords.
  2. Use Face ID or Touch ID when prompted, or enter your passcode.
  3. An iPhone 12 Pro shows that passwords have been saved for accounts like Apple, Google, and Hulu in the Passwords section of Settings.

  4. To see a password, select a website.
    • An iPhone 12 Pro shows the account details for the user's Apple account including the User Name and Password.
    • To delete a saved password, tap Delete Password.
    • To update a password, tap Edit. "

That info comes from How to find saved passwords on your iPhone. If you're using a Mac, here's How to find saved passwords on your Mac.

Take care.
