Unlinking two iphones

How do I separate 2 iphones so that they stand alone and changes to one does not affect the other. I've tried changing the Apple ID, but it changes it on both phones. I've tried to remove the phone from the account, but it doesn't remove it.

How do I stop two iPhones from syncing with the same Apple ID? On one phone go to Settings > name > Sign Out and Sign Out of both iCloud and AppStore.
