Iphone colour depth issue

My iphone has a colour depth issue, I am only having this issues with pictures and videos, video calls etc. I tried to reset my phone but didn’t fix the problem. I observed that it has something to do with my screen brightness. When my surrounding is bright, the colour depth seems okay but night time its getting worse. I’d like to mention that my auto-brightness is off and my screen still gets darker when it’s dark around me. The photos i take in dark looks bad on my screen because of the colour depth issue, but looks good on other devices once i sent them. Any advice?

Hi barna88,

If you'd like help with your iPhone brightness changing to the ambient light around you, you might find this information useful.

Is True Tone on? As a head’s up, this feature is an additional feature beyond just your iPhone brightness. True Tone changes the color and brightness of the screen so that it matches the light in the room, automatically.

Turn True Tone on or off
On supported models, True Tone automatically adapts the color and intensity of the display to match the light in your environment.
Do any of the following:
- Open Control Center, touch and hold the Brightness button, then tap the True Tone button to turn True Tone on or off.
- Go to Settings  > Display & Brightness, then turn True Tone on or off.

This information is from Adjust the screen brightness and color on iPhone. If the issue remains after following those steps, let the community know if True Tone was on and what happened when you turned it off. Additionally, let us know what iPhone model you have, and what iOS version you’re currently running.

We hope that helps with your question and take care!

Thank you for the reply barna88!

Does this occur with all app or just on Instagram? Knowing this can help us isolate the issue.

Also, let's check a few more settings that can change your display color. If you go to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size, do you have any other option that is turned on such as "Increase Contrast" or "Color Filters"?

If not, are you using your device within acceptable operating temperatures? The reason we ask is because the display can dim if the device gets too warm. Take a look here under the "If your device gets too warm" section:
