Apple Watch unresponsive

So I recently got an Apple Watch for my daughter and when we got it the screen wouldn’t turn on we charge and we did all the necessary things to try to turn it on but it just stayed black and I’ve always been with Apple since day one like I have have different Apple products and watches and i was hoping to get a new one shipped out to me
